By Dahvik Sehva

If you’ve ever wanted to explore your creative side, now is the perfect time to start. As an artist, you have the opportunity to express yourself in a way that no one else can—and it can be incredibly fulfilling. But if you’re just getting started in art, it can be difficult to know where to begin. Here are five tips for art beginners that will help you get started on your artistic journey.

Start With What You Love
When starting out, it’s important to focus on what interests and excites you. If you love nature, try painting landscapes or flowers; if music is your passion, look into creating visual art inspired by your favorite songs. Focusing on subjects and topics that you are passionate about will make your artwork more meaningful and interesting. It will also give you the motivation to keep going when things get tough!

Find Your Medium
Once you’ve identified what inspires and excites you, it’s time to figure out which medium best suits your needs. Do you prefer oil paints? Watercolors? Pencils? Acrylics? Each medium offers different possibilities, so choose the one that speaks most directly to your creative vision. And don’t be afraid to experiment with different types of media; many artists blend multiple mediums together in order to create unique effects!

Experiment With Different Styles
No two artists create artwork in exactly the same way–each has their own unique style and approach. As a beginner, it’s helpful to experiment with different styles in order to find what works best for you. Try sketching in detailed realism or using abstract colors and shapes; practice using bright colors or muted tones; try painting realistically or go wild with expressionism! The possibilities are endless–so try as many as possible until something clicks!

Take Classes or Watch Tutorials
Art classes are a great way for beginners to learn the basics of drawing and painting from experienced professionals who can offer valuable advice and insight into the creative process. There are also plenty of online tutorials available free of charge for those who would like some extra guidance!

Practice Consistently
Practice makes perfect when it comes to art—so don’t be discouraged if things don’t turn out perfectly right away! Dedicate time each day (or as frequently as possible) towards developing your technique and skillset. The more time and effort you put in, the better your artwork will become over time—and soon enough, all of that hard work will pay off!

Getting started in art can seem daunting at first—but don’t let that stop you from exploring your creative side! Focus on what interests and excites you, find the right medium for your projects, experiment with different styles until something clicks, take classes or watch tutorials if necessary—and above all else practice consistently until perfection is achieved! With these five tips for art beginners under your belt, there’s nothing stopping you from becoming an amazing artist. Good luck!
